Newsflash
In keeping with the theme of this year’s St David’s Day Concert – Old Friends, Old Favourites – we are thrilled to report that three old friends will indeed grace us with their presence and involvement. |
Firstly, ex-chorister Moelwyn Hugh Jones – it’s his face on our Working Man CD (left)– will treat us to one of his legendary recitations about life in South Wales. Then he will draw on his own experience as a coalminer to present a heart-felt introduction to that stirring tune Working Man. |
| This will be sung by our second musical legend Jack Clarke, his exemplary posture a testament to his status as a World War Two soldier. Many a concert in the past has echoed with cries of ‘Sing Working Man’ so, on this occasion, patrons’ requests will not go unheard. | ![]() Jack in action |

From old friends who have left the choir to our third living legend
Charles Phillips, who is still a member of our Bendigo chapter and
regularly performs at our concerts. On this night of nights, patrons
will be totally transported and moved by our oldest chorister’s
heart-breaking rendition of I’se Weary of Waitin'. For more about our St David's Day Concert click on "more" beside the picture of the MRC on your right. |
